About Montessori
A Brief History

Dr. Maria Montessori, born in 1870 in Italy, was trained as a medical doctor and dedicated her life to becoming one of the most influential educators of the 20th century. Her remarkable ability to observe and understand children’s needs and development led her to create an educational method known worldwide as the “Montessori Method.”

The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one's self. – M. Montessori

Dr. Montessori believed in supporting each child to reach their full potential and empowering them to become active members of their community and make meaningful contributions to the world.

The Montessori method encourages independence, confidence and self-discipline, and a strong sense of purpose.
