In each of our groups, dedicated English- and German-speaking teachers and caregivers work hand in hand. Alongside them, a wonderful group of young adults — our interns and apprentices — bring energy, warmth, and fresh ideas. They play an important role in supporting both the children and the team.
Our administration is led by two principals, supported by two HR assistants and a caring secretary who keep everything running smoothly.
The kitchen team, with our head chef and cooking assistant, spoils us daily with warm meals and delicious afternoon snacks.
Every evening and weekend, our professional cleaning team works diligently to deep-clean our spaces — something we value deeply and never take for granted.
We are more than just a school: we are also a training institution for young adults completing a two- to three-year FaBe apprenticeship. Our experienced mentors guide them from their first steps all the way to their final exams, and we take great pride in the outstanding child-care professionals who grow through this program.
We are not simply a school – our dedicated team plays a vital role in supporting children's education and growth.

House of Kids was founded by Ms. Stark and Ms. Ruf with a clear vision: to create a Montessori community where every child, with their individual strengths, feels truly seen and supported as they discover in who they are becoming.
After eight formative years, the founders chose to pass the school on internally, preserving its culture and the spirit that shaped it. They entrusted it to us, Melyssa Felix and Corinne Ehinger, two teachers who had grown within its walls. Having worked closely with children, families, and caregivers each day, we knew the school from the inside out. We stepped into leadership, not from a boardroom, but from the classroom, carrying with us a deep respect for the trust families place in us, and the belief that education is a shared responsibility.
Since then, we have led House of Kids as independent owners, personally shaping its growth and direction. As two women deeply committed to educational quality and long-term values, we lead with vision and full accountability for every decision that shapes our community. We are not part of a chain and have no external investors. Everything we do is guided by thoughtful care, responsibility, and trust in what we are building.
None of this would be possible without our remarkable team of over 50 educators and staff. Their expertise and dedication to the children form the foundation of our community. Together, we have created environments designed to support children, families, and educators.
As owners, we bring years of experience and personal commitment to the school. House of Kids is not simply a school we manage — it is a community we care for deeply and lead each day with profound respect for the formative years that shape a human life.
Montessori is more than an approach to education; it's a way of life — built on trust in the child, respect for individuality, and joy of learning through discovery.

From as far back as I can remember, I knew my life’s work would involve children. Their openness, honesty, and natural way of learning have always been what inspires me most.
My introduction to Montessori came unexpectedly while working with a young boy — an absolute gem of a child — who struggled with focus and concentration. When he began attending a Montessori school, I witnessed a remarkable transformation in a very short time. The independence he gained, the calm he found, and the pride he took in his own progress captured me instantly. I knew I had found something special.
Determined to learn more, I moved to Vancouver to study Montessori education. After completing my training, I began teaching at an international Montessori school in Beijing, where I experienced firsthand how beautifully Montessori philosophy transcends culture, language, and background.
Those early experiences shaped not just my teaching, but my belief in the Montessori approach as a way of life — one built on trust in the child, respect for individuality, and the joy of learning through discovery.

Born in Zürich, my childhood began in Switzerland, where I spent my first five years before my family set out for the wide-open spaces of Colorado, USA. Growing up between two cultures sparked my early fascination with identity, sociology, and human development.
I discovered Montessori after completing my university studies, and reading The Absorbent Mind profoundly shaped my understanding of the first six years of life. Dr. Maria Montessori’s scientific insight into early childhood gave me a new lens through which I understood both myself and the transformative power of those foundational years.
I still remember stepping into a Montessori classroom in Denver for the first time — it felt like walking into a lush and serene oasis, with thriving plants, natural materials, and beautifully crafted child-sized furniture. The calm, harmonious atmosphere created a space that felt alive, purposeful, and genuinely respectful of the child. Determined to deepen my knowledge, I returned to Europe to complete my Montessori training in Munich, Germany.
Since then, I have experienced guiding young children through their earliest years as both a great honor as well as a profound responsibility — grounded in the belief that when we carefully prepare the environment, we unlock extraordinary human potential.
